The Nick of Time

You’ll have to pardon the less-than-stellar lighting and angle on the picture, but it’s definite proof that I managed to finally get the January socks done.

I stuck in a piece of waste yarn & ripped back the first sock so that I could re-knit the cuff, then did the same k2p2 cuff on the second sock.  The bind-off is a variation on Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off (video demonstrated by Cat Bordhi).   My variation?  Lucy Neatby’s sock DVDs show her doing a variation on the standard bind off that takes a little less time & has all parts knit right on the needles rather than performing a pass-stitch-over.  Maybe sometime I will get someone to try taking video while I demonstrate.  Basically, it’s a cross between the two techniques…seemed to go well.

Tomorrow is the start of the Skinflint Sock Club…I’m a little jazzed over it.  It’s one thing for me to be knitting a sock, but for other folks to join in at the same time?  Wild 🙂  If you’re planning on following along, I’m hoping to have the directions to the pattern we’re using for February on the site by 9am Mountain Time.   Whee!
